Critical Thinking

For EFL learners, we often refer to the 4 skills of reading, writing, speaking/pronunciation, and listening as the main principles of language learning. What we forget is that to accomplish this, we must be able to think for ourselves. The Critical Thinking approach allows our students to take language learning into their own hands, inductively creating rules and reasoning that generate meaning in their own minds, and formulates a manner in which to make a lasting impact on memory. Critical Thinking is the first step toward Autonomous Learning where the student will learn how to learn more effectively for themselves and further our responsibilities as educators rather than just language teachers.
